May 10 - Census day - last day in Uganda

Today was my last day in Uganda and I felt the business of the last weeks catch up to me. It was the day of the national census in the country so I was woken up in my accommodations by a knock on my door to fill out a form and be counted. So now, I can officially say that I've been counted in the Ugandan census! (As a foreigner :) )

After breakfast and making sure the last threads of the study plan were wrapped up, I headed out for lunch with a friend and then to a shop to pick up a jacket made by a friend of a friend! Shoutout to Fakher and his merchandise line called Night in Kampala. The shop was located downstairs to a cafe that he and his colleagues opened recently so I spent some time there before returning to my accommodations to pack for my return to the states.

In the evening met some new friends, connected with an another, and said a nice farewell to Kampala. Thank you for following along for the daily updates and stay tuned for more to come with Ekyaalo Diagnostics after this summer!
