Day 4: August 1st, 2025 Demo Day
Friday August 1st the team had a late night that extended into the early morning. With the goal to demo our prototype during our morning appointment with the pathologist at Jinja Regional Referral Hospital (level 6) the team worked in the night to try to fix the power supply and reassemble the prototypes. The electrician we met the night before was able to fix the power supply and help the team reconnect the wiring. This was an instrumental assist. We then went to the hospital and set up for the demo. We had a lot of feedback some conflicting but the major consensus was that our product would be of great use and ease the overall diagnostic pathway for the community. We diligently listened, asked questions and took notes. The team felt very empowered and enthusiastic after this meeting. Following this demonstration Joel, (Makerere University BME) introduced us to the biomedical engineering department at the hospital. We met with them and discussed how equipment is maintained at Jinja RRH and across the region. The day ended with a shopping trip and bonfire with bbq chicken and beef. We spent time together listening to music and playing games by the campfire.
